Lamine Yamal is making good progress in his recovery from injury and is expected to return to training on Wednesday at Barcelona.
The latest update on the teenager comes from AS and news that Yamal should be passed fit in time to play a few minutes at the weekend against Girona.
Barca then expect him to feature against Olympiacos in the Champions League – potentially even as a starter – meaning he should be “100%” ready in time for El Clasico.
Yamal’s return will be a big boost for Barcelona as they
aim to return to winning ways after suffering defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla before the international break.
Barcelona’s teenager has three goals and two assists from just five appearances in all competitions this season for Hansi Flick’s side and will be hoping to pick up where he left off when he returns.
Flick had previously said he wasn’t sure how long Yamal would be out for with his groin injury, but it does seem that the youngster is close to a return after enjoying rest over the international break.
