Tennessee moved up in the latest AP Poll, but not much. The Volunteers, coming off of a blowout win in Knoxville against Louisville, moved from No. 20 to No. 19 this week.
The Volunteers snapped a three-game skid after dropping games to Kansas, Illinois and Syracuse. Tennessee won its second straight game on Sunday afternoon against Gardner-Webb to improve to 9-3. Tennessee has one more non-conference game against South Carolina State on December 30th before starting SEC play.
The highest ranked team
in the SEC? That’s Vanderbilt at No. 11. The ‘Dores are still undefeated after blowing out Wake Forest on Sunday. Alabama (14), Arkansas (18), Florida (22) and Georgia (23) are the other ranked teams in conference with Kentucky just narrowly missing out.
Arizona, Michigan, Iowa State, UConn and Purdue make up the top five. Toss in No. 6 Duke and that group has seemed to separate from the pack through the first several weeks of play.
