Chiefs rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane was fined for block
against the Dolphins | The Kansas City Star
Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis threw a 1-yard pass to wide receiver Malik Washington. Chiefs defensive back Jaden Hicks and Delane combined to make the tackle. There wasn’t a penalty on the play, but the NFL apparently saw something amiss.
Delane, who was taken by the Chiefs in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft out of LSU, was fined $12,537 for unnecessary roughness on a low block. That’s according to the NFL website. It’s the first time the rookie has been fined this season.
Five Things to Watch on Sunday | Chiefs vs. Raiders | The Mothership
The former first-round pick hauled in a team-leading 10 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown last week, drawing 14 targets from quarterback Kirk Cousins. Bowers’ return also allowed the Raiders to utilize “12 personnel,” which means two tight ends and one running back in the offensive formation, on a season-high 52% of their offensive plays. Las Vegas racked up 187 yards on those snaps, and Kansas City will need to be ready for a heavy dose of it on Sunday.
Chiefs Confidence Meter: How I Feel About the Team Against Raiders in Week 4 | Sports Illustrated
The biggest shock coming from Las Vegas might be the production of coordinator Rob Leonard’s defense. Through three games, per SumerSports, it ranks second in the sport in lowest EPA per play allowed (-0.198) while also ceding the eighth-lowest success rate at 41.8%. The Raiders are stingy both against the run (-0.313 EPA/play, fourth) and the pass (-0.127, first), so there’s a world where the Chiefs have some trouble.
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs Bringing “Ridiculous” Indoor Record to Las Vegas on Sunday | Roundtable.io
The reason for that seemingly contradictory demand is blatantly obvious: since quarterback Patrick Mahomes became the team’s full-time in 2018, the Chiefs have rolled up a “ridiculous” 16-2 record and .889 winning percentage in games played indoors, according to Leigh Oleszczak, a writer for Arrowhead Addict.

Kansas City Chiefs: Real
First of all, Patrick Mahomes is back from the torn ACL and LCL he suffered in December, and he’s off to a great start in 2026 — a 68.4% completion rate for 912 yards and seven touchdowns against just two interceptions with a 108.9 passer rating, plus 10 carries for 41 yards and another score. The two-time MVP should only get more comfortable as the season wears on and he’s further removed from knee surgery.
But the biggest reason why the Chiefs are a true Super Bowl contender, and not just in the conversation with a healthy Mahomes, is because of running back Kenneth Walker III.
Around the NFL
Dasha Smith, one of the highest-ranking female executives in sports, is leaving NFL | The Athletic
Smith, the league’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer since 2019, oversaw human resources, social responsibility, league office administration, data and analytics, and information technology. Until her resignation, which was announced Friday by commissioner Roger Goodell in a memo to staff, she was the only woman of color in the NFL’s C-suite.
“Dasha has been an important member of our senior leadership team, helping modernize our operations, strengthen our organization and leadership, and advance our commitment to building a more inclusive League,” Goodell wrote in the memo obtained by The Athletic. “She has been a trusted partner to me and to leaders across the League and our clubs, and I am grateful for her contributions, counsel and dedication.”
Colts WR Keenan Allen (groin) out vs. Commanders in London | ESPN
Allen was unable to practice Friday after developing the groin issue in recent days. He has 13 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in three games, second in yardage on the team behind Josh Downs.
Allen’s injury further complicates things at wide receiver for the Colts, who are already without No. 1 wideout Alec Pierce (heel). Pierce remains on injured reserve for an undetermined length of time. He must miss at least three more games before being eligible to return.
Seahawks place rookie Jadarian Price on injured reserve | CBS Sports
Price suited up for Seattle’s Week 3 loss against the Washington Commanders, in which he rushed five times for 15 yards. He was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but missed Thursday’s and Friday’s sessions, and was subsequently ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Price is the Seahawks’ leading rusher this season, having rushed 28 times for 119 yards. With him out of the lineup, Emanuel Wilson and George Holani will take over as Sam Darnold’s partners in the backfield.

Chris Jones thinks the arrow is pointing up for Sack Nation
“We’re close, statistically-wise,” Jones told reporters. “You look at the numbers, the quarterback has been getting rid of the ball [in] 2.3 seconds. I don’t care how good of a pass rusher you are, when they’re throwing the ball that quick, it’s tough for anyone,” Jones explained.
To make matters worse, he added that when the opposition holds onto the ball to take a shot downfield, they keep extra men back to bolster their line and prevent any incursion.
“You got seven, eight men in there protecting,” Jones said. “So, it’s like, the opportunity is going to come. I think don’t waver from what we’ve been doing. We’ve done a lot of good. We put a lot of good on film. I think we stay committed to that and just find ways to get sacks out of it so y’all can stop writing about us in the media.”
