We’re not sure what’s going on with former Duke star Kyle Singler these days, but it can’t be good. Last year he posted some video of himself in apparent mental distress
, which worried a lot of people, and now, this: According to Oklahoma TV station KFOR, Singler was arrested Thursday “allegedly threatening to rape his girlfriend and attempting to get to her toddler, while appearing to be on drugs.”According to the New York Post, Singler is the child’s father.
First of all, he’s innocent until proven
guilty, so let the courts sort it out.
Secondly though, the first situation while disturbing, is personal. The second involves potential danger to a woman and a small child, and if true, that cannot be tolerated.
If these charges move from allegations to proven, he must be held accountable.
Beyond that, if he is abusing drugs, as alleged, and is having mental health issues, he really needs to sort that out. We’re sure his family and loved ones want him to get help, but that’s really something that you have to want yourself. Hopefully, Singler can get his life back on track.
