Late news
Stefano Pioli’s rotated his side heavily and sure looks like he’s thinking about Sunday’s tilt with Torino. Local boys Mattia Viti and Jacopo Fazzini make their first ever Fiorentina, which is pretty cool for a couple of local kids. Edin Džeko is probably a bit less emotional but it’s his first start as well. Pablo Marí, Fabiano Parisi, and Rolando Mandragora all slot in as well. Ruslan Rotan, on the other hand, hasn’t changed much, bringing Talles Costa into midfield.
Don’t expect much of an atmosphere,
either. This one’s being played at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo as construction continues to consume the redoubtable Artemio Franchi, and the denizens of the Curva Fiesole are still under interdict following their bad behavior in last year’s competition against Real Betis.
Lineups
Fiorentina (3-5-1-1): de Gea; Viti, Marí, Comuzzo; Parisi, Ndour, Fagioli, Mandragora, Dodô; Fazzini; Džeko
Polissya (4-3-3): Kudryk; Mykhalychenko, Sarapiy, Chabotenko, Kravchenko; Talles Costa, Babenko, Andriyevskiy; Nazarenko, Filippov, Gutsulyak
How to watch
Once again, nobody seems to have broadcast rights outside of Italy, so you may be sailing the high seas. As Serie A has once again reminded us, hashtag Sto Piracy. We’ll try to keep you updated on Twitter but this could be a rough one to watch at home. At least the reliable streams will be back after this.
Forza Viola!
