I was very much hoping that this game would be Spain vs. USA, in which case I would’ve made every effort to attend. Alas, it was not meant to be. The USMNT were a massive disappointment in the Round of 16, losing to a Belgium side that had struggled to impress consistently. They needed a miracle comeback just to advance beyond Senegal in the Round of 32, while in the group stages, they played out dour draws against both Iran and Egypt.
I don’t image they’ll give Spain too much trouble — just as Morocco
failed to give France any trouble whatsoever last night. That game was not nearly as good as some of the instant classic swe had seen thus far in this tournament, though expecting Spain to ratchet up the entertainment may be a bit naive. They have kept a clean sheet in all five of their tournament games, and they be looking to do the same today. No team have ever won the title without conceding a single goal (Spain do hold the record with just two conceded in 2010; The other two are Italy in 2006 and Frane in 1996

Chelsea interest: Marc Cucurella began the World Cup as a Chelsea player, but he’s since joined Real Madrid, to give them a lone representative on the Spain squad instead. Cucu has been his usual self on the pitch however, even grabbing a couple assists at one point.
Former Chelsea players Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku have all played key roles for Belgium, with the latter turning into quite a super sub. Lukaku has scored in three straight substitute appearances!
