Coming off a disappointing 2025-26 season, Maryland men’s basketball will have a chance to avenge its losses from conference play. Tuesday’s Big Ten opponent release revealed where those opportunities will come.
The Terps struggled mightily in conference play, finishing second-to-last with a 4-16 record record against Big Ten opponents in the 2025-26 season. While
the strength of its conference was on full display in the NCAA Tournament, Maryland’s roster was simply outmatched by more physically dominant teams.
But heading into the 2026-27 campaign, the Terps look to capitalize on their revamped roster.
Maryland will get to play Indiana, Michigan State and Rutgers multiple times, all teams that it lost to last season. This will mark the second straight season the Terps will face the Scarlet Knights twice, giving the two squads a thorough rematch after Rutgers swept last season’s series.
Maryland will get its annual chance to travel to the West Coast, where it will play both Washington and Oregon. The Ducks were the last team Maryland defeated last season — that came in the first round of the conference tournament. The Terps’ season then ended the next day against Iowa.
Once the full schedule is released, Maryland fans will get a clearer picture of when and where the Terps will showcase their new-look lineup.
