
Fermin Lopez has shut down talk that he has fallen out with Gavi after speculation emerged claiming a rift had developed between the two Barcelona youngsters.
The rumor mill got excited after Lopez posted a curious message on Instagram, which was swiftly deleted, with reports suggesting it was aimed at Gavi.
Lopez has now been quizzed on his relationship with Gavi and insists the two players are still close.
“Gavi has been my friend since I was 12. I’ve known him since my time at Betis, but since I joined
La Masia, he’s been my friend, like my brother,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“We’ve shared a lot. People always speculate, this isn’t going to change, but he’s still my friend. We have a good relationship, as always, and I have nothing more to say about it.”
Lopez has found himself in the spotlight in recent weeks due to the speculation about a clash with Gavi and amid reported interest from Chelsea.
The youngster has insisted that his priority has always been to Barcelona and will surely be hoping now he can put talk about his future to bed and make a real impact for Hansi Flick’s side this season.
