The Tennessee Volunteers are putting together an elite roster for the 2026-27 season. The team has not only brought in several quality transfers, but also boasts an elite high school signing class.
The high school class got even better on Thursday, when in-state four-star forward Chris Washington Jr. officially committed to the Vols. Washington, who starred for Providence Christian Academy in Murfreesboro, reportedly chose Tennessee over Auburn, Ole Miss, USC, and Villanova.
Washington ranks as a four-star
recruit and the No. 43 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. 247Sports also has Washington as the No. 16 small forward in the country and the top overall prospect in the state of Tennessee in 2026.
The young forward originally committed to Alabama, but de-committed from the Crimson Tide last fall. Tennessee then made Washington’s new top seven list and the wing visited the school earlier this week. Clearly, the visit to Rocky Top made a big impression on Washington.
With the addition of Washington, the Vols have to feel great about their incoming crop. Other than Washington, the Vols have received commitments from four-star forwards Ralph Scott and Manny Green, and three-star point guard Marquis Clark. Washington is the first in-state product to join the class.
