LFC eyeing Schlotterbeck, too (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich has been rumored to have interest in Borussia Dortmund center-back Nico Schlotterbeck, but could face competition from Liverpool and Real Madrid:
Schlotterbeck is interested in the potential offer coming from Liverpool F.C. This comes at a time when the Reds are reacting to the long-term injury to Giovanni Leoni and fears Ibrahima Konate could depart on a free when his contract runs out next summer.
There should soon be contact. He already has a contract offer (until the summer of 2030)
on the table from Dortmund. However, if he accepts, he would just earn about €8m [£6.9m] gross – about €2.5m more than what he’s currently earning at BVB, and he’s not satisfied with this! That’s also because his teammate, Niklas Süle, is earning €14m [£12.1m] all in all, and he’s on the bench.
FC Bayern Munich are not yet at the table. However, they could soon throw their hat into the ring should Dayot Upamecano clearly signal that he won’t sign a new contract and they don’t manage to get Marc Guehi. So, you see, these are three defenders that Arne Slot’s Merseysiders also have an interest in.
Liverpool are looking at Schlotterbeck right now, and otherwise, the candidates remain the same for the Bundesliga champions and Real Madrid. So, it’s getting interesting.
The competition for Schlotterbeck will be fierce, but there are group of center-backs (Schlotterbeck, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi, Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté) who will all affect the movement for one another. If Bayern Munich wants Schlotterbeck, it might have to strike quickly.
Eintracht eyeing Bisseck (Bild via Get German Football News)
Eintracht Frankfurt could be willing to make a play for disgruntled Inter Milan center-back Yann Bisseck:
🦅 Eintracht Frankfurt and Yan-Aurel Bisseck are in talks over a move in the winter. (Bild)
👀 Bisseck has lost his place in the Inter Milan 11, and Frankfurt are monitoring the situation.
Bisseck would like to be back in the mix for the German national team, but cannot do that without playing time. Eintracht Frankfurt could likely provide just that.

BVB has potential Schlotterbeck replacement in mind (Goal)
If Nico Schlotterbeck leaves Borussia Dortmund for Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, or some other destination, BVB could look to Chelsea defender Axel Disasi to replace him:
Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund are exploring defensive options in case star defender Nico Schlotterbeck leaves the club for Bayern Munich next summer. They have identified one strong candidate in the form of Chelsea defender Axel Disasi and a past connection with Dortmund coach Niko Kovac might help them in securing his services.
Disasi was considered a big signing at Chelsea back in 2023, when the Stamford Bridge-based outfit paid a reported €45 million to bring the player to London from Monaco. However, the five-time French international, now 27, has not been able to make a mark at the Blues and manager Enzo Maresca is not looking at him as a potential starter. Dortmund have been monitoring his situation and have seen his performances both at Chelsea and at Aston Villa, where he spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
Liverpool not missing Díaz (Rousing the Kop)
Luis Díaz has been a godsend at Bayern Munich, but do not expect Liverpool to shed any tears that the Colombian is gone per journalist Graeme Bailey:
However, as journalist Graeme Bailey exclusively tells Rousing The Kop, Liverpool remain convinced that they made the right decision.
“I think it was the right deal, they got good money for him, he was asking for big money to extend,” says the transfer expert. “They brought Ekitike in, Wirtz, Ngumoha’s there. In 12 months time who’s to say Ngumoha is not the next Bukayo Saka and is starting for England and Liverpool? He might be. They had to get rid of Diaz to make room for him.
“They’ve still got Gakpo there, so in my opinion they’re not weaker without Diaz. I think it was an eminently sensible decision from them to move on from Diaz and Nunez. They made that decision way before this summer and pushed it through.
“From the moment he arrived he was looking for a new contract, and causing a few issues in and around the club. The people around him were hard work and Liverpool have no regrets about that deal whatsoever.”

Real eyeing Murillo, too (Madrid Universal)
Bayern Munich has been linked to Nottingham Forest center-back Murillo, but Real Madrid is also in the mix for the 23-year-old:
According to Defensa Central, it has come to light that Real Madrid’s chief scout, Juni Calafat, has identified Nottingham Forest defender Murillo as a potential target for the summer of 2026.
It is known that the club is planning to strengthen its defence as contracts for David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are set to expire, and neither player is expected to be offered a renewal.
As such, Real Madrid have already considered several options for the centre-back role. Names like Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano, and Marc Guehi have been on the club’s radar, as their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Saudis want Rüdiger (Fabrizio Romano via ESPN)
Real Madrid and German national center-back Antonio Rüdiger could be on the verge of getting a big offer from Saudi Arabia:
Clubs in Saudi Arabia are looking to sign Real Madrid center back Antonio Rudiger as he enters the final year of his deal.
Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show: Northern Ireland 0-1 Germany (World Cup Qualifiers)
The German national team knew it would need to step up its efforts against Northern Ireland.
While not a powerhouse, the Northern Ireland squad was game and made life very tough during Germany’s 1-0 victory. It was not pretty and it was not likely the kind of dominant result that fans wanted to see, but it was a stiff test and one where the Germans could not afford to come out flat.
Intensity and focus were there, but execution was not. Regardless, it was a win for Germany. Let’s dive into the details. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at Bayern Munich’s starting XI — what worked, what didn’t, and where things might be headed.
