The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from former FIU running back commit Qwantavius Wiggins, he announced on Tuesday.
Wiggins, a three-star recruit in the Class of 2026, was on campus this weekend
for Wisconsin’s upset win over the Washington Huskies, and elected to commit to the program afterwards.
He had been committed to FIU since the summer, but his recruitment had taken off since then, with the Florida State Seminoles, Auburn Tigers, Cincinnati Bearcats, and the Badgers all offering the running back over the past few months.
Wiggins had been on an official visit to Florida State last weekend before coming to Madison and was expected to visit Auburn later this month. Instead, he’ll be a Badger, becoming the No. 15 commit in the class for Wisconsin.
Wiggins is considered the No. 3 recruit in Wisconsin’s 2026 class behind blue-chip prospects Amari Latimer and Jayden Petit, according to 247Sports.
Wiggins is a huge get for Wisconsin late in the cycle, considering how late they got into the battle for the running back against some tough Power 4 competition. He is the second running back in the class behind Latimer, who has seen some strong suitors emerge this fall.
Latimer has already visited the Ohio State Buckeyes and Tennessee Volunteers this season, and the Miami Hurricanes are another team looking to get into the mix. Head coach Luke Fickell’s return should help the Badgers’ position, but they are fending off some tough competition late in the cycle for Latimer’s commitment.
If Wisconsin is able to get both players, that is a home-run group for the Badgers at running back, but Wiggins is a quality player on his own who should push for playing time next season as a freshman.
Wisconsin is still looking to add players to its 2026 recruiting class, having several targets on campus this weekend. Wiggins was among the group and is a good get for the Badgers staff one month away from National Signing Day.
