Following a strong run in the Big Ten Tournament, the Wisconsin Badgers are heading to the NCAA Tournament, drawing the Baylor Bears in the first round of the Austin Regional.
Wisconsin, which finished the season with a 32-19 record, enters as the No. 2 seed in the regional, and will take on the 28-26 Bears for the first time since 2002. Texas (42-10) and Wagner (22-26) face off on the other side of the regional.
This is the Badgers’ eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament under coach Yvette Healy
and the team’s first since the 2022 season.
Wisconsin ended up going 14-10 in conference play this year, and they drew No. 10 Purdue in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, winning 4-3 on a walk-off single. The following day, they faced No. 2 Oregon, winning 11-9 in a high-scoring affair that included seven combined runs in the first inning.
Wisconsin ultimately fell to No. 7 UCLA after that, but their season isn’t over yet, as they’ll head to the NCAA Tournament and look to make a run.
