Frisco and Round Rock were both rained out on Tuesday. Frisco plays two on Wednesday. Round Rock plays just one, but it is an 11:05 a.m. start, so keep an eye peeled to see if Alejandro Osuna or Michael Helman are out of the lineup while we wait to see what Wyatt Langford’s status is.
Hickory starter Aneudis Mejia gave up five runs in four innings of work, striking out three, walking one and allowing a home run.
Daniel Flames had a pair of hits. Josh Springer had a pair of hits. Yolfran Castillo had a hit.
Hub City starter Aidan Curry allowed three runs in 4.1 IP, striking out five, walking three and allowing back-to-back homers in the first. Kai Wynyard threw a shutout inning. I am thinking Kai Wynyard is very familiar with the interstates of the Carolinas — this is the fifth straight season he has played for Down East, Hickory or Hub City.
Malcolm Moore was 2 for 4 with a walk. Gleider Figuereo had a hit, a walk and a stolen base.
Arturo Disla was 5 for 5 with a pair of homers, and is now slashing .396/.450/.679. He’s a 25 year old first baseman, so is really told old for A ball, but he returned for his third season in the Sally League after putting up a 644 OPS last season.
