Maryland field hockey is off to its best start to the season in years.
The Terps have won each of their first eight games for the first time since 2018 and the 12th time in program history. As a result, they’ve soared up the rankings to No. 2 overall, the highest the program has been ranked since September 2022.
Maryland’s momentum hit a high Sunday, when the Terps beat then-No. 4 Wake Forest, 1-0, at home. Maci Bradford scored the game’s
lone goal. Having also scored in the Terps’ 4-1 win over Penn State on Sep. 17, she was named the Solomon Eye Terp of the Week.
The Terps’ next game comes at home against Rutgers on Friday. It is slated to begin at 4 p.m. and be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
