The Green Bay Packers had four players listed as non-participants on their first injury report of the week: left running back Chris Brooks (ankle), guard Aaron Banks (knee/toe), offensive lineman Jager Burton (back) and offensive lineman Jacob Monk (quadricep). The good news here? If the Packers are out all of those offensive linemen, the team can still play dress eight players at the position on game days, as they’re “oversigned” at the position currently.
In other good news, receiver Savion Williams
began practicing on Wednesday and his 21-day window to return from the injured reserve has now opened up. Williams, listed with an ankle injury, was a limited participant in practice. Joining Williams as a limited participant were right tackle Anthony Belton (knee), defensive lineman Anthony Campbell (ankle), defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (ankle) and edge defender Lukas Van Ness (shoulder). All of those limited players were able to finish the game against Tampa Bay last week, except Campbell — who was inactive last week due to injury.
Cornerback Brandon Cisse, who left the Buccaneers game with a neck injury, was a full participant on Wednesday. Assume that he’ll return to his starting role at right cornerback, where he played during his rookie season.
The Chicago Bears were a bit more banged up for their Wednesday practice, as offensive lineman Jonah Jackson (ankle), running back Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe), running back D’Andre Swift (hip/knee), offensive lineman Joe Thuney (pectoral), quarterback Caleb Williams (hamstring) and offensive lineman Darnell Wright (ankle) were all non-participants today.
The Bears have opened up the practice windows on three players: cornerback Kyle Gordon (calf), linebacker Noah Sewell (Achilles) and defensive lineman Shemar Turner (knee). Gordon was a full participant, Sewell was a non-participant and Turner was a limited participant on Wednesday.
