The 2026 season has come to its conclusion, and with it, the chaos that is the NCAA transfer portal has officially opened. While teams navigate the Mountain West-Pac-12 split, I will be keeping track of who teams lose and gain through the portal window. Let’s take a look at how everything stacks up entering the first day of the closed portal period.

New Developments
Fresno State
Entered Portal: LF Olivia Hill, 3B Nadia Rountree, OF-C Alexa Brunetti, UTL Leila Dixon, P Bronwyn James
Signed From Portal:
DP Kaelia Ricks (Ohio State), P Samantha Lotus (Wagner), P Delaney Wright (Utah Tech), CF Jordan McMahon (Weber State), P Alyssa Galindo (Michigan State), IF Jayden Ramos (Arkansas)
Outlook: The Bulldogs made two signings on the last day of the open portal, one being low-key and the other being a big win. First, the low-key one. Alyssa Galindo pitched 29.2 innings with a 6.94 ERA in her freshman season with the MSU Spartans. The Rancho Cucamonga native will join Samantha Lotus and Delaney Wright in a completely revamped bullpen, as the Bulldogs look to replace Lauryn Carranco through the portal, as opposed to building from within.
Jordan McMahon, on the other hand, was a fantastic player in her sophomore season with Weber State. She led the Big Sky in hits (73), recording a .386/.414/.455 slashline, also leading the team with 10 steals. The Wildcats may have gone just 14-42 in 2026, but McMahon was absolutely not a reason for that. She will be an immediate impact player for the ‘Dogs, a much-welcome dose of speed for a team that stole just 16 bases in all of 2026 combined.
Finally, the ‘Dogs also went out and got Jayden Ramos, who batted .292 in her limited playing time for the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Fresno native was a four-year starter at Central High School, slashing .409/.532/.745 with 22 homers and 104 RBIs. Ramos is a fascinating prospect, and she should do well playing for her hometown squad. The Bulldogs are definitely big winners of the portal so far, their class is full of great players and talented prospects, both from the power conference and the mid-majors.
Texas State
Entered Portal: P Madison Azua (Texas A&M), P Chesney Davis (Tulsa), SS Camryn Plocheck, P-IF Savannah Carter
Signed From Portal: LF Zoey Greenwood (Creighton), 2B Karina Trevino (Creighton), 3B Tessie Harrison (UL-Monroe), P SJ Geurin (Auburn), 1B Payton Brown (Western Illinois)
Outlook: The Bobcats had already gone out and snagged some good players from the portal, but the glaring hole left by Madison Azua still loomed large. Then came their move yesterday, obtaining the services of Savannah “SJ” Geurin, formerly of the Oklahoma Sooners and Auburn Tigers. The one-time D1Softball National Pitcher of the Week hails from Leander, Texas, and is coming off of a down season in Auburn where she had a 4.94 ERA. If Geurin can get back to the form she had in her 2025 season (2.98 ERA, 109 Ks, 190.1 IP), this move can solve all of the Bobcats’ problems. Fantastic move for Ricci Woodard’s squad.
The Bobcats also made another great move yesterday, signing Western Illinois slugger Payton Brown. Brown is a career .388 hitter, amassing 22 home runs and 79 RBIs in her last two seasons with the Leathernecks. She has recorded an OPS of over 1.000 in each of her two seasons as a starter, her 2025 season earning her OVC Player of the Year honors. Brown is yet another great addition for this fantastic Texas State transfer class.
