Matt Olson and Mauricio Dubon both won Gold Gloves on Sunday night, a deserved recognition for two of the most reliable defenders in the National League.
It was the fourth time Olson has won a Gold Glove in his career. Olson took home the Gold Glove hardware in 2025 with Atlanta, plus won two additional times in the American League with the Oakland Athletics in 2018 and 2019.
It was a no-brainer to award Olson the Gold Glove, who has established himself as the best in the game at his position the last
few years. Olson led all first basemen in Outs Above Average (+12) this past season, and he was +11 Defensive Runs Saved on the corner. Olson is also a strong receiver of the baseball and does a strong job picking any errant throws from his infield peers.
As for Dubon, it’s the third time he’s won a Gold Glove. He took home the hardware as a utility man with the Houston Astros in 2023 and 2025.
Dubon was stellar defensively in his first season with the Braves, playing all over the diamond. He ranked in the 91st percentile in Outs Above Average and graded out well with his throwing ability as well. Dubon’s ability to play any position on the field is pretty incredible to watch on a nightly basis.
The Braves had two Gold Glove nominees in addition to Olson and Dubon: starter Chris Sale and center fielder Michael Harris. The National League gold glove for pitchers went to Nolan McLean of the Mets. Harris, while certainly deserving of a Gold Glove, fell short to Pete Crow Armstrong of the Cubs.
