While sports, specifically the Cleveland Browns, are the focus of our site, we first want to wish safety and good luck to everyone in the path of Hurricane Isaias, as landfall is expected to hit the Florida Panhandle and Alabama on Friday evening.
After the Browns’ Week 2 long weather delay versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland could once again be facing some interesting weather patterns in Week 5 on the road versus the New York Jets. The Jets have already ruled out a few key players, and the Browns are
likely to do the same soon. Weather and field conditions could lead to a more cautious approach with injuries as well.
According to The Weather Channel’s 10-day forecast, there is a 99% chance of rain on Sunday in the Meadowlands. The current projected path of Isaias does not have the storm in the New York area at the time of the game, but the path and speed can change rapidly, as well as push weather ahead of its path:
While the number is a bit misleading for interest purposes, as the team has only played two home games during this stretch, the Jets have reportedly gone over 300 days between rainless games in the Meadowlands.
As of the current forecast, winds are not expected to be a huge problem (around 12 MPH), but gusts could rise into the 20 MPH zone during the Week 5 contest between Cleveland and New York.
DBN wishes everyone in the path of the storm safety
