As the Las Vegas Raiders begin the practice week for their biggest game since the 2021 season, they will do so without starting right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson.
Las Vegas coach Klint Kubiak said Wednesday that Powers-Johnson will be out Wednesday because of a groin injury that cost his the five final plays at New Orleans on Sunday. Kubiak did say, though, that the team is hopeful Powers-Johnson can practice at some point this week to give him a chance to play.
2025 third-round pick Caleb Rogers
spelled Powers-Johnson on Sunday and would be in line to start if Powers-Johnson can’t play.
Meanwhile, as expected, Kubiak said rookie starting safety Treydan Stukes will practice fully Wednesday after he cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol. He missed the Saints game. He will be needed Sunday as the 3-0 Raiders host the 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs in a huge early-season game.
Kubiak said No. 3 quarterback Aidan O’Connell is still away from the team. He has been gone for 13 days dealing with the death of his father. Kubiak said the team is hopeful O’Connell will return later this week.
