The Las Vegas Raiders made history this offseason with their free-agent signing of Tyler Linderbaum. Linderbaum’s $27 million per year contract set the record for center salaries, and now he is the Raiders’ starting center for the next three years.
A big part of it being such a huge signing for the Silver and Black is Linderbaum’s status around the NFL. He is regarded as one of the best centers in football with his consistency in run blocking and pass protection.
ESPN is doing its annual NFL executives’
top-ten position rankings. Linderbaum made the cut at number eight on the list and was the second-best center in the league.
Linderbaum upgrades the Raiders’ offense immediately. He’s known as an elite run blocker. But in the passing game, he also ranked second among centers in pass block win rate (97.2%) last season.
Linderbaum’s talent is a huge blessing for the Raiders, as the offensive line was a mess in 2025. With a new coaching staff and a new leader for the position group, the franchise is hoping for a turnaround on offense. If everything comes together correctly, Raider Nation will be satisfied with John Spytek and the organization.
