How did Jordan Mason perform for the Vikings in 2026?
The Vikings running back led the way in the backfield, taking 159 yards for 758 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 4.8 yards per carry.
Jordan Mason started off the season well, having his best game as a Viking back in Week 3, when he went for 116 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries
against the Cincinnati Bengals. But him and Jones never really established themselves as a tandem due to injuries, and Mason had more games with single-digit carries from Week 8 onwards than with double-digit carries.
Mason wasn’t much of a receiver either, averaging less than a catch per game, while Jones had 28 catches in 12 games.
What did the 49ers do with their picks from the Jordan Mason trade?
With their fifth-round draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the 49ers selected Kansas State safety Marques Sigle. San Francisco ended up trading the sixth-round pick they acquired from the Vikings to the New England Patriots for defensive lineman Keion White.
Who won the Jordan Mason trade between the Vikings and 49ers?
This one is still a to-be-determined, given that Mason is expected to lead the backfield again in 2026, but Year 1 had mixed results for the running back.
He had a similar style of rushing like with the 49ers, relying more on his physicality to brush off hits, but the Vikings will look for their rushing efficiency and EPA per play to continue improve in 2026 with Mason and Jones hopefully healthy as a tandem.
The Vikings didn’t pay much draft capital to acquire Mason, but did give him a two-year, $10.5 million contract, committing to him and Jones as their backfield. They’ll hope for better results from the group next season.
