On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson presented a $250,000 check to The Fourteens Foundation at the United Way Resiliency Center. The generous donation will provide much-needed assistance and support to the victims and families affected by the horrific New Year’s Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street, while also helping the community continue to heal and recover.
In the early morning hours of January 1, 2025, tragedy struck New Orleans when a terrorist drove a truck into
a crowd of people celebrating the New Year in the French Quarter, killing 14 people and injuring dozens more. The devastating attack left families grieving, survivors facing long roads to recovery, and the city mourning an unimaginable loss. In the wake of the tragedy, the community has continued to come together to honor the victims, support their families, and provide assistance to those whose lives were forever changed.
The Fourteens Foundation was established to create and maintain a permanent memorial honoring the 14 lives lost, their families, injured survivors, and the community, while also recognizing the heroic efforts of first responders. The foundation is committed to preserving history, fostering healing, and promoting education that advances unity, resilience, and peace for future generations.
