We are a few days away from the first Duke-UNC meeting and UNC is playing well enough to hold up their end of the bargain.
As you know, the Blue Devils and Tar Heels have the best rivalry in sports and routinely put on games that we talk about for years afterwards. There are games going to back to 1960 that still come up in conversations.
In fact, you don’t really need to say much about those games. The year will often do: 1960. 1968. 1974. 2011. 2020.
For those who don’t know, 1960 was the Heyman/Brown
fight, 1968 was the triple overtime game where Fred Lind came off the bench to lead Duke to victory, 1974 was the famous (infamous) UNC comeback, 2011 was the Austin Rivers game and 2020 was the Tre Jones miracle(s).
We’re going to feature some of the better moments this week to prime the pump, starting with the 2020 game which saw not one but two buzzer beaters. What will we get this weekend?
You hope a blowout for Duke, but things rarely go that way in this rivalry.
Enjoy!
