It was a mostly quiet week for your hometown Cleveland Browns.
Sure, there were some ramblings from ownership about how quarterback Deshaun Watson is back in the team’s good graces, and the new head coach had some issues with telling time, but otherwise, the focus has turned to the 2026 NFL Draft.
The situation is the same here at Dawgs By Nature, as we have been busy in the workshop building draft profiles for players that may be on Cleveland’s radar in a few weeks. And just like general manager Andrew
Berry, who has mandated that the team will focus on a “heavy investment” in the offense, the profiles have mostly focused on that side of the ball.
But fear not, good readers, the draft is still 18 days away, so we will have plenty of profiles on defensive players in the coming weeks.
If you have missed anything, here is a list of the players that we have profiled so far:
- NFL Draft Profile: C Connor Lew, Auburn
- NFL Draft Profile: C Matt Gulbin, Michigan State
- NFL Draft Profile: C Jake Slaughter, Florida
- NFL Draft Profile: WR Carnell Tate, Ohio State
- Browns Draft profile: S Bud Clark fits roster in many ways
- Browns Draft profile: TE Nate Boerkircher would complement Harold Fannin Jr.
- Browns NFL draft profile: WR Elijah Sarratt, Indiana Hoosiers
- Browns NFL Draft Profile: Edge Zion Young, Missouri Tigers
- Browns NFL draft: EDGE Rueben Bain Jr. makes sense in CLE, even if polarizing
- NFL Draft Profile: RB Mike Washington Jr., Arkansas
- NFL Draft Profile: RB Jeremiyah Love, Notre Dame
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Cole Payton, North Dakota State
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Cade Klubnik, Clemson
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Taylen Green, Arkansas
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Drew Allar, Penn State
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Carson Beck, Miami
- NFL Draft Profile: QB Ty Simpson, Alabama
All good? Then let’s kick off the day with the latest edition of the Sunday Dawg Chow.

- Browns QB job should be Shedeur Sanders to lose, not Deshaun Watson (Curtiss Brown) – Cleveland Browns starting QB gig is between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson right now. Todd Monken’s comments push one way.
- Browns Draft profile: S Bud Clark fits roster in many ways (Barry Shuck) – The Cleveland Browns NFL draft could focus on offense, but a safety like Bud Clark fits a roster need as well.
- NFL Draft Profile: RB Mike Washington Jr., Arkansas (Thomas Moore) – The Browns seem set at RB for the moment. But if Washington is there on Day 2, could he be in play?
- NFL Draft Profile: C Connor Lew, Auburn (Matthew Wilson) – Auburn’s Connor Lew has the physical ability and smarts to take over at center from day one in Cleveland.

- Browns draft prospects Spencer Fano, Caleb Lomu have ‘desire to be great’ (Beacon Journal) – Jim Harding grew up a Browns fan as a boy in Maumee, Ohio. His career as an offensive line coach has taken him from Wyoming to Utah to, for the last few months, an hour or so north of his hometown at the University of Michigan.
- Here’s why Andrew Berry isn’t ruling out a Deshaun Watson contract extension (Terry Pluto) – Browns general manager Andrew Berry met with reporters at the NFL’s annual meeting in Phoenix this week and said something that threw some fans for a loop: It’s possible Deshaun Watson could get a contract extension.
- Rise of RBs sharing carries, what it means for the NFL draft (ESPN) – When Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price went through the speed dating-like gauntlet of NFL combine interviews in February, he heard two questions more than any others.
- Titans coach Robert Saleh on QB Cam Ward: ‘He has the right work ethic. I just don’t see him failing’ (ESPN) – Titans quarterback Cam Ward will be working with a new regime in Year 2. Part of that new regime coming to Tennessee is Titans head coach Robert Saleh. The former 49ers defensive coordinator and Jets head coach is already impressed by Ward’s work ethic.
- 2026 NFL Draft: 3 NFL players with the most to gain or lose (PFF) – While most of draft season is spent talking about potential prospect fits with teams, current NFL players are often overlooked. Here are three NFL players who have the most to lose or gain in the draft, depending on whom their teams target (particularly in the early rounds).
