Day 1 and 2 of the NFL Draft are in the books and we are on to Day 3. Are you ready? Are the Los Angeles Rams ready? They’ve got a few picks left, but so far, they haven’t made a trade up or down, and that’s somewhat surprising given how the Rams and Les Snead typically operate.
I am sure when the draft is done, we’ll spend time talking about our thoughts, and what could’ve been different, better and or what we liked, or didn’t like (can’t imagine what people didn’t like, hehe). For me, the Ty Simpson
pick was a surprise, but the Rams so often surprise that I was a little numb to that specific pick. Surprised a bit, yes? Shocked, I don’t know about that.
I am more surprised the Rams haven’t moved up or down, yet.
Here’s the other piece, yes, the Rams do get some things wrong, but Snead and Sean McVay have been right more often than not, so if they are picking someone, I trust their choice.
For now, I think the Rams are on the right path. Path to a win a Super Bowl? That’s so hard, but are the Rams on a path to be competitive? I sure think so.
Even if Matthew Stafford were to miss time, they have a player behind him that fans should be excited about, and I don’t think they were going to get that at this point, outside of the draft. That’s not a bad thing.
Please comment on whatever you want, happy Saturday and thank you for checking out Turf Show Times!
Rams’ Sean McVay ‘couldn’t be in more lockstep’ with GM Les Snead (espn.com)
“The Rams drafted Simpson at No. 13 on Thursday night, and McVay’s brief responses to questions and overall body language led to some speculation that he was unhappy with the Rams’ pick.
“Always want to be mindful of how things come off, things like that,” McVay said. “Very excited about last night, very excited about today and couldn’t be more excited about us continuing to lead together, but every decision that we make is collective and collaborative.”
Not Matthew Stafford, but his wife texted new LA Rams star Ty Simpson (uk.sports)
“Speaking in a clip shared by Arash Markazi, Simpson shared that his first outreach came from Kelly Stafford rather than the Rams quarterback.
“Kelly has actually texted me on Instagram and welcomed me and told me to hit her up if we need anything but I can’t wait to talk to Matthew.
“I’m super ecstatic because I just want to pick his brain,” Simpson said.
The moment stands out because it highlights how quickly Simpson has been embraced, even before officially stepping into the building. It also reflects the kind of environment the Rams have built around their veteran quarterback.“

“If Ty Simpson can actually win us more Superbowls after Stafford hangs it up, this pick will look like a complete masterclass and we will shove all of this complaining in the garbage. But if Ty Simpson busts really hard, then we will be whining and complaining even more.” -Leowaterhunteralt
