Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/37-22)
SYRACUSE 10, BUFFALO 2 (BOX)
Francisco Alvarez, who is back on the rehab assignment train after fracturing his pinky finger (while on the same rehab assignment!), and hit a grand slam and caught the entire game. While he has the most beat up hands in professional baseball at the moment, he seems like he is mostly ready to be back with the big club, and I would not be surprised if he is in the lineup on Friday against Cincinatti, especially since that series looms so hard for solidifying the Mets playoff
hopes, with the Reds five games behind them.
Other than that, Jett Williams homered, Carson Benge went 0-5, Kevin Parada made his Triple-A debut and Jose Siri also continued to rehab and got a hit — he is also sneakily important to the Mets due to Tyrone Taylor’s hamstring injury — and the bullpen game they threw surrendered just two runs.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/38-20)
BINGHAMTON 9, AKRON 5 (BOX)
Binghamton employed a very steady attack in this win, scoring at least a run in every inning but the third and sixth. Jacob Reimer was the only Pony to not get a hit, though he did have a sacrifice fly to put them up 1-0 in the top of the first inning. A.J. Ewing was excellent, and really was the spark plug for the offense as he has been throughout his breakout campaign.
The pitching staff was more good than bad, surrendering two runs in the bottom of the first and three in the fifth, as Jack Wenninger and Daniel Suarez struggled in the first five innings, but strong performances by Joshua Cornielly and Ryan Lambert held serve in the back end of the game
- LF A.J. Ewing: 3-6, 2 R, K, SB (11)

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/25-37)
JERSEY SHORE 5, BROOKLYN 4 / 10 (BOX)
Brooklyn fell behind 2-0 in the second, but battled back to tie it in the top of the fourth. A run scoring triple by Matt Rudick got them on the board, and a balk, of all things, brought him home to tie it. Jersey Shore took the lead back in the fifth, but Brooklyn took the lead in the sixth. The first run of the frame scored ON ANOTHER BALK, which is 1) incredible that it happened twice in one game and 2) worth the all capital letters there, for sure. A Yohairo Cuevas sacrifice fly scored a much more normal run, making it 4-3 Cyclones.
However, Irving Cota gave up the lead in the bottom of the ninth after three solid innings of relief, and Brett Banks threw a wild pitch to surrender the winning run in the tenth.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/42-20)
FORT MEYERS 3, ST. LUCIE 2 (BOX)
St. Lucie trailed for almost all of this game, going down 1-0 in the first and 2-0 in the third, as they just could not get a thing going offensively. They did, however, tie it in the eighth, as Simon Juan hit a two run double to tie the game. That would not last long, however, as Quentin Young walked off the game for the Mighty Mussels with a bouncing ball that was misplayed to a drawn in infield in the bottom of the ninth.
