Benfica defender Tomas Araujo’s agent has been talking up a possible move to Barcelona amid speculation the Catalans are keen to bolster their backline.
Barca are thought to be looking for a short-term
fix this winter, after losing Andreas Christensen to injury, but are also considering a permanent signing for the summer.
Araujo’s agent, Ali Barat, says that the Benfica star would be a good fit for Hansi Flick’s system at Barcelona.
“Araujo has qualities that modern coaches look for, as they all play with very high defensive lines, as you know, especially teams like Barcelona,” he told Fabrizio Romano.
“I’m quite sure that many top clubs will come looking for Tomas again in the summer. What’s excellent about Tomás is that he possesses fundamental characteristics, such as his speed and technical ability.”
It’s not known if Barcelona hold any interest in Tomas Araujo, but his agent is certainly doing his best to get him a big-money move to Camp Nou.
