According to a report from Foot Mercato’s Hanif Ben Berkane and Santi Aouna (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is closing in on a deal with PSV Eindhoven for Ismael Saibari. After rumors emerged on Tuesday, things have really progressed quickly:
Bayern are now closing in on an agreement with PSV for Ismaël Saibari. Final details to sort between all parties involved before the deal is done. Medical to take place in the USA. The Moroccan will sign a contract until June 2031.
It remains to be seen where
Saibari fits into Bayern Munich’s lineup. Mostly known for his play as an attacking midfielder, Saibari has some experience as a winger and as a striker, but nothing substantial enough to think he would be a candidate for those roles at Bayern Munich. At the No. 10, Saibari’s pathway to playing time would be blocked by both Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry.
In the meantime, Bayern Munich fans will be able to watch Saibari at the World Cup to get a full feel on what he can do as a player and where he might eventually fit on the roster — if the move eventually goes through to completion.
