Bayern Munich goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is taking the positives from the team’s ability to fight back from 2-0 deficit and eventually take the lead vs. Viking FK. Sure, Bayern Munich would go on to eventually take the lead before settling for a 3-3 draw, but there is little time for Vincent Kompany’s squad to dwell on what went wrong.
“It was positive that we managed to come back. But we will analyze the game and don’t have much time to think about it. In a few days, the next game is already here,” Urbig
said (ss captured by FCBayern.com).
The comments reflect Bayern Munich’s need to quickly move forward after a frustrating result. While the ability to recover from a difficult situation is certainly encouraging, the Bavarians will also recognize that coming from behind is not a sustainable strategy if they want to maintain their standards across competitions.
For Urbig, the message is particularly important as he continues to develop within Bayern’s goalkeeping setup. Learning from difficult moments, remaining composed under pressure, and understanding how to respond to setbacks are all important parts of growing into a bigger role at the club.
Bayern Munich cannot afford to spend too much time lamenting missed opportunities or individual mistakes. With matches coming thick and fast, Kompany and his coaching staff must identify the problems, work on the necessary corrections, and ensure the team is better prepared for its next challenge.
The comeback provides something positive to build on, but the performance still deserves an honest assessment. Bayern’s ability to respond to adversity is encouraging, yet the ultimate objective remains turning those moments into consistent results.
As Urbig acknowledged, the schedule offers little room for reflection. Bayern must learn its lessons quickly, reset, and get ready to go again.
The next match vs. RB Leipzig is already approaching, and the team needs to make sure the same problems do not follow it onto the pitch.
