Aided by a controversial fair/foul call on a long Pete Alonso fly ball, the Yankees picked up a win on Wednesday night, assuring them of a series victory on the road in Baltimore. Tonight, they’ll try and sweep the Orioles before heading back home to face the other AL East birds.
To try and finish off that sweep, the Yankees will sent Gerrit Cole to the mound. Cole has been on a strong run of late, with a 2.57 ERA and a 2.33 FIP over his last eight starts. The Yankees have only gone 4-4 in those games,
mostly thanks to the struggling offense, but Cole has certainly done his job in keeping them in games.
Speaking of said struggling lineup, José Caballero will get the nod at third in for Ryan McMahon after the latter left Wednesday’s game early with a hand injury. Other than that, the starters are the same as yesterday, albeit in a different batting order.
As for Baltimore, the recently-extended Kyle Bradish will get the start. For the season, Bradish has been a bit up and down, but he’s been solid of late. In his three starts in August, he’s allowed just five earned runs in 15 innings.
Here’s all the information you need to know to catch tonight’s action, and we hope you’ll come join us in the game thread!
