Eberl dishes on Kane’s future (Tz’s Hanna Raif and Mano Bonke)
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl was recently asked about a new contract for Harry Kane and — as some fans feared — the two sides will not meet until the summer. That likely means that this situation will linger until after the World Cup:
Max Eberl on Harry Kane’s future: “We will speak to him in the summer.”
How do you feel?
Eberl: “I see him, I feel him. He feels incredibly good. He’s winning titles with the team, also receiving individual awards, and breaking records en masse. Since
his move to FC Bayern, the esteem in which he is held, even in England, has increased dramatically.”
So…is there a chance that Kane decides not to extend his deal past 2027? Well, yeah, there is that possibility, but the likelihood is that Kane is taking a very low risk gamble on himself. Based on his current book of work, Kane is due for a nice bump in his total financial package. However, if Bayern Munich wins a treble or even a double — and England wins the World Cup — Kane’s value will get boosted further.
For Kane, there is zero reason to rush this. The Englishman is already going to get paid and that figure can only go higher based on the successes he has between now and time the two sides sit down at the negotiating table.
Kvaratskhelia to spurn Gunners (Daily Mail via ESPN)
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seems to be loving his time with Paris Saint-Germain — so much so, that he will reportedly turn down a potential move to Arsenal:
Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has no interest in leaving the Parc des Princes this summer amid links to Arsenal.
Real keeping close eye on Schlotterbeck developments (AS)
Nico Schlotterbeck’s recent admission that he is not close to a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund has renewed Real Madrid’s hopes of signing the defender:
Renewal… but with fine print . Like signing to stay, knowing you might not. That’s the direction the ‘ Schlotterbeck case ‘ is heading. One that’s starting to take on the air of a soap opera. The ‘modern Kaiser,’ as he’s affectionately known, is going to leave the door ajar. His new contract will include very specific clauses allowing him to leave. Figures, exceptions. Some even for this summer. Because it’s not out of the question that, if he has a great World Cup, he’ll pack his bags afterward. Dortmund’s priority is not to lose him for free —his contract ends in 2027 — but beyond that, they’re aware of the situation . Real Madrid was starting to give up on him. But now, they see a glimmer of hope; just in case they consider it.
Transfer war for El Mala heating up (TEAMtalk)
FC Köln star Said El Mala has reportedly gotten very close to a deal with Brighton, but Chelsea and Newcastle United are not giving up and are hoping to convince the German to hold off on making a big decision:
A fierce battle is now brewing for the signature of FC Koln’s teenage sensation Said El Mala, with Brighton, Chelsea and Newcastle United at the forefront of the race for the 19-year-old German winger.
El Mala has been one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga this season, dazzling with his electric pace, confident dribbling, and eye for goal from the left wing. City leads on Anderson (ESPN)
Manchester City could be leading on Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson:
Manchester City are ahead of rivals Manchester United in the race to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, as per The Daily Mail. Anderson, 25, is City’s No. 1 priority this summer when it comes to transfers, although his anticipated involvement for England at the World Cup could complicate their pursuit. Both Manchester clubs are wary that an impressive display at the tournament could further increase his £100 million valuation United aren’t willing to give up on signing Anderson just yet, however, with meetings still planned with the player’s representatives.
Bayern linked to Kofane, but say nothing is “concrete” (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
There were some loose rumors linking Bayern Munich to Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane, but other clubs are likely more interested per Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg:
🚨🆕 Arsenal are monitoring Christian #Kofane. The 19 y/o talented striker impressed in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Several other top English clubs are also interested, and Real Madrid have been keeping an eye on him as well.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen are demanding €60-70 million for a summer transfer. Top transfer by Rolfes/Falkenberg. Both are in good contact with agent Eric Depolo.

Plettenberg would later check in and be clear that Bayern Munich was not interested in Kofane:
🚨Christian #Kofane is currently not a transfer target for FC Bayern this coming summer. In addition, the club’s focus remains on extending Harry Kane’s contract beyond 2027.
As reported, Bayer 04 Leverkusen are pushing for a fee of €60-70 million for Kofane in the summer. The most realistic market at present is the Premier League, with Arsenal closely monitoring the situation.

Later, Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund was asked about it.
“There are always discussions in different directions. But there’s nothing concrete from our side. We’ve never taken part in speculation and won’t do that now either,” Freund said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kofane seems like a nice prospect, but it would seem a little too early for Bayern Munich to be involved with the striker.
