Barcelona loanee Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score a penalty in England’s 5- 0 win over Serbia in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday night.
Rashford was left out of the starting XI, after failing to impress against Andorra last time out, and with manager Thomas Tuchel saying he’s lacking the “wow factor” in an England shirt at present.
Tuchel sent Rashford on after 68 minutes of the match in Belgrade and saw the Barcelona loanee grab England’s fifth of the night in the 90th minute.
The forward
struck from the penalty spot to score his first goal of the season which will hopefully be a big confidence boost for the 27-year-old.
Rashford will now head back to Barcelona and hope to feature at the weekend against Valencia.
The forward has featured in all three of Barcelona’s La Liga matches so far this season but is yet to manage a goal or an assist for Hansi Flick’s side.
