Thiago Pitarch’s breakout at Real Madrid is now being recognized at international level, with Spain’s Director of Development Aitor Karanka highlighting the midfielder’s decision to represent the national team.
Speaking at an event in Las Rozas, Karanka pointed to Pitarch as an example of commitment, particularly given the option to represent Morocco.
“Thiago is an example of what is being worked on at the RFEF in terms of commitment.”
Karanka extended that praise to Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera,
who also chose Spain despite other international options.
“Also with Mosquera in the senior team, even though they can receive calls from other national teams, they identify with Spain. We appreciate that commitment. Thiago and Mosquera are two examples of that commitment.”
Pitarch’s rise has come quickly. Under Arbeloa, he has established himself in the starting XI and now will be competing to keep his place with Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler both fit.
