Tonight’s (Oct. 23) episode of SmackDown featured WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green defending her title against Raw star Roxanne Perez, who recently beat the champ in a non-title match.
Nobody from the Judgment Day was ringside to support The Prodigy, but you knew it wouldn’t stay a fair fight for the duration. Late in the bout when the referee’s back was turned, Raquel Rodriguez ran in to attack Green. Perez was seconds away from capitalizing and winning the WWE title when IYO SKY crashed the party
to continue her beef with the Judgment Day. IYO’s assist was exactly what Chelsea needed to get back in the fight, hit her finisher on Perez, and score the win.
Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan soon ran in to attack the babyfaces. That brought out Money in the Bank contract holder Tiffany Stratton, who cleaned house on the heels.
With Liv Morgan laid out, Chelsea gave Tiffy Time the nod of approval to cash in on Raw’s champion. Tiffy tried to do so, but the rest of the Judgment Day pulled Liv out of there before the referee could officially start the title match.
If history is a guide, this was probably the first of what will eventually be 48 different cash in teases for Stratton before she finally succeeds.
What did you think of Chelsea Green vs. Roxanne Perez, as well as Tiffany’s cash-in tease after the match? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
