Pregame notes
The Mystics are just a little over a week away from the FIBA Tournament break and just nine games left in the regular season, so this a critical time of the season. With that said, the standings going into the playoffs is very tight. Just 2.5 games separate the 3rd seed, Indiana Fever, from the 6th seed, where
the Mystics are. The Dallas Wings, who are the 8th seed, are just 1.5 games from the Mystics, so every game matters.
With that said, in comes the #1 seeded, the Minnesota Lynx, who are coming off a huge win over the 2nd seeded, Golden State Valkyries. More than just making a statement, Mystics just need to keep pace with the teams around them. Both teams have split the previous two games, which included two very close games.
On the other side, the Lynx are trying to wrap up the #1 seed. They have a comfortable 4-game lead, but this league is so competitive it feels like there is a battle every night and Friday should be no different. The Lynx will be without their superstar Napheesa Collier. Can the Mystics pull off the big upset and win the season series? Should be a great game. Let’s see if Washington can make some noise going into the playoffs.
