Whew. After last night’s marathon 18-inning contest between the Blue Jays and Dodgers saw Los Angeles pull out the walk-off win, the two teams have a quick turn around as they get set to play again just
hours later in Game 4 of the World Series.
The Blue Jays, losers of one of the longest games in World Series history, are now in desperation mode and do not want to fall into a 3-1 series hole. Things don’t end well for teams in the spot and it’s not impossible, but they’d do themselves a huge favor with a win tonight. They’ll turn to former Cubs Young winner Shane Bieber hoping that he can tame Shohei Ohtani and the rest of the potent Dodgers lineup.
Here’s the Toronto lineup for their must-win Game 4:
As expected, George Springer is out for the Jays tonight after he left yesterday’s contest with what seemed like an oblique injury. If that’s the case don’t expect to see him the rest of this series. We’ll see.
Of course, that lineup will have yet another tough time as Shohei Ohtani gets the ball for the home team. He’ll have a tough time matching either his previous starting outing where he also hit three home runs, or last night when he set a World Series record with nine times on base. He’ll also be in his customary leadoff spot tonight. Let’s see what he does for an encore.
The Los Angeles lineup for tonight shakes out like this:
Another huge game LA tonight for the World Series. Hopefully this one doesn’t go until midnight tonight. Enjoy the game everyone!
