VfB Stuttgart star Deniz Undav had an incredible season for his club and has — somehow — been even better for the German national team.
Even after starting on the bench for some inexplicable reason, Undav made his presence felt when getting his number called in the 60th minute. Eight minutes after entering the match, Undav ran into a great diagonal cross from Nadiem Amiri to knot the game at 1-1 before scoring the game-winner four minutes into added time after Felix Nmecha found him in a sliver of
space. Undav took care of the rest with his left foot and won the game for Germany, while also clinching the easiest Player of the Match award for this tournament to date:
Undav continues to amaze fans and pundits, but still might not be winning over the coaching staff, which is concerning, laughable, and maybe even disturbing at this point. With nine goals in his last eight games for Germany, there is no one — absolutely no one — more deserving of a starting role on this team.
