NC State added three transfer players on Saturday, highlighted by Tulane EDGE Harvey Dyson, who led the AAC with 8.0 sacks in 2025. Dyson totaled 36 tackles, with 11.5 TFL, and should provide a much-needed boost to State’s pass rush this fall. He has one year of eligibility left.
The bulk of the Pack’s additions so far have been on the offensive side, with two more guys joining that group today: former UNC running back Davion Gause, and former Montana State tight end Hunter Provience. Gause becomes
the first UNC football player to make the hop over to Raleigh in the NIL/portal era—understandable that he’d want to finally be on the winning side of the rivalry.
Gause ran for 259 yards and three scores on 61 carries in 2025; he’ll have two years of eligibility remaining. Provience wasn’t a major factor catching the ball at Montana State (11 receptions in 2025) but if he can fill the Cody Hardy role, that’ll work just fine.
NC State also added Miami transfer wide receiver Chance Robinson on Friday. Robinson did not have a reception as a redshirt freshman in 2025, but is a former four-star prospect. Robinson is a former high school teammate of CJ Bailey’s, as is Davion Gause.
