NUREMBERG, Germany — The Nürnberg Falcons BC announced Wednesday the signing of guard Nate Heise, who joins the club after a versatile collegiate career at the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa State.
Heise, a 6-foot-5 guard, begins his professional career following two impactful seasons in Ames. Known for his postseason performance and perimeter shooting, Heise emerged as a key contributor during Iowa State’s recent NCAA Tournament runs.

with the Nuremberg falcons,” Heise said on Nürnberg Falcons’ Instagram post. “I have heard so many great things about the coaches, players, fans, and the city overall. I was able to hear first-hand about the team from my head coach at Iowa State who has a strong relationship with Ralph Junge, and my teammate Brandt Chatfield who was on the team last year”.
During the 2025-26 season, Heise appeared in all 37 games for the Cyclones, averaging 5.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. He was particularly effective during the NCAA Tournament, where he averaged 17.3 points across three games, including a season-high 22-point effort against Tennessee State.
Heise also proved to be a clutch performer, hitting a go-ahead 3-pointer in a victory over No. 2 Houston.
In his 2024-25 campaign, Heise led Iowa State in 3-point accuracy, shooting 40.9 percent from beyond the arc. He also established himself as a defensive threat, recording a career-high six steals in a game against Jackson State and averaging 1.3 steals per game that season.
