Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies won a tough game yesterday in improbable fashion but it wasn’t all good news as the Huskies got some bad news on the recruiting front yesterday.
4 star wide receiver Dontay Tyson from Peoria HS, AZ de-committed from UW yesterday and flipped his commitment to Wisconsin. The Huskies had 4 receiver commits already in the class and while it was a big loss to lose someone the caliber of Tyson, it’s not the end of the world as they still have 3 wide receivers who have the talent
to play early next year. It’s interesting that Tyson chose Wisconsin considering his final 2 schools before he committed to UW was Texas A&M and UW, but I’m sure the Huskies will be fine without him.
The Huskies are trying to push back a little against Wisconsin with a recent offer to one of their commits down in the Grand Canyon State. 3 star 2027 edge Nate Jones from Desert Edge HS has had a strong senior season for his team and was offered by UW this week. Jones, who is rated as the 125th best edge in the country holds offers from Arizona, Baylor, FSU, KSU, and North Carolina on top of his Wisconsin. This season Jones has 42 total tackles, 16 TFL’s, and 7 sacks. The Huskies will continue to pursue Jones and other targets heading into the early December signing period.
That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
