The annual rivalry between Kentucky and Louisville has been scheduled. The Wildcats and Cardinals will tip off at 8 PM ET on November 11th on ESPN at the KFC Yum! Center.
This year’s matchup between these
two rival teams will be one of the earliest meetings between the two programs in series history. The rivalry, which usually takes place in late December, will be shifted to early November for the first time in decades. The Wildcats and Cardinals will each play two non-conference games before the highly anticipated matchup.
This year will also mark the third game between these two respected programs, which will be played on a Tuesday. The other two early-week matchups occurred on January 2, 2001, and December 31, 1996.
This will be round 2 for Mark Pope and Pat Kelsey in this highly respected rivalry. Pope knocked off Kelsey in their first head-to-head matchup, with the Wildcats winning 93-85. The ‘Cats have won three consecutive in this rivalry.
This highly anticipated matchup has the potential to be one of the greatest of all time. These two programs should be ranked highly to start the season. Pope and the Wildcats will look to extend their win streak to 4 games in this rivalry.
