The ugly stepsister of Guardians’ affiliates continued a disappointing season but Petey Halpin went 3 for 5 with a triple and a homer, Kahlil Watson went 2 for 4, and Travis Bazzana had a triple. It wasn’t the greatest game for Austin Peterson as he gave up two homers, but he only gave up four hits, zero walks and struck out seven in five and a third.

Lane Thomas began his rehab going 0 for 3 with a strikeout, but Angel Genao went two for three
with a walk. Yorman Gomez struggled again, giving up nine hits and two walks in four innings.
A walk-off sac fly from Nick Mitchell (144 wRC+ with the Captains so far) won it for Lake County and Jaison Chourio continued his recent surge going 2 for 5.
It was a great night for the 2025 Guardians’ draftees as Riley Nelson went 2 for 4, Nolan Schubart went 1 for 4 with two walks, Aaron Walton went 2 for 6 with a double and Luke Hill went 3 for 5. Will McCausland pitched three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk, and five strikeouts.
