Game notes
- Fresh off of back-to-back 4-1 losses, the Bruins will look to…well, not lose 4-1 again! That would be a good place to start.
- After making their first-ever playoff appearance in the spring, Utah has gotten off to a great start this season. They won their first two games by a combined score of 10-1 before a blip against the Rangers on Sunday. However, they won last time out, a 5-3 victory over New Jersey on Tuesday.
- The Mammoth have the sixth-most potent offense in the league to start the season, averaging 4.25 GF/G. They also have the league’s best power play, checking in at 61.5%. That is 1,949,288% higher than the Bruins, who sit at 0%…or maybe some kind of negative percentage, given the shorthanded goal against Ottawa.
- Nick Schmaltz is on quite the heater to start the season, recording five goals in just four games.
- Defenseman Mikhail Sergachev left Tuesday’s game after being struck in the head with a puck. His status for tonight’s game was unclear as of Wednesday evening.
- Former Bruin Andrew Peeke is now plying his trade with the Mammoth, having signed a one-year, $1 million deal back in July. He has a goal and an assist thus far on the season and is averaging just under 16 minutes TOI.
- The B’s put forth a pretty putrid team-wide effort on Monday, so it makes sense that Marco Sturm is juggling his lines. That shuffling included a reunited Morgan Geekie-Pavel Zacha-David Pastrnak line, as well as a Marat Khusnutdinov-Fraser Minten-JJ Peterka trio.
See
ya tonight!
