As yesterday’s reports — and his recent social media activity — indicated, as of Oct. 7 Santos Escobar is listed in the alumni section of WWE.com. Word was his contract expired at midnight, and this would seem to confirm he didn’t sign a new one.

The second generation wrestler was said to be dissatisfied creatively and opted not to re-sign despite being offered a raise. And it’s not hard to see why: he’s only wrestled seven times in 2025, mostly in multi-man matches and battle royals. He hasn’t been
used since a pair of July house shows in Mexico.
Escobar (real name Jorge Bolly) should have options. He’s a gifted in-ring performer, a solid promo in English and his native Spanish, and has lots of experience working on television. The only real knock on the former El Hijo del Fantasma is his cruiserweight frame, but that won’t be as much of an issue outside WWE. His age — a surprising 41 — might be, however.
He should be free to show up anywhere effective immediately, so we might not have to wait long to find out where he’ll lands. Stay tuned.
