What is the story about?
Anaheim Angels owner Arte Moreno is selling the team to Stan Kroenke, per multiple reports. Kroenke, a 79 year old billionaire, also owns the Los Angeles Rams, the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Avalanche, Arsenal F.C., Arsenal W.F.C., the Colorado Rapids, and the Colorado Mammoth.
This would be the end of the tenure of an individual widely viewed as one of the worst owners in MLB. Moreno bought the Angels in early 2003, when they were coming off their first World Series title in 2002. The Angels have
not returned to the World Series since, have made it as far as the ALCS on twice in that time, and haven’t made the playoffs since 2014. The team is currently 53-85, and has clinched the franchise’s 11th straight season with a losing record.
