The perception of Tua Tagovailoa is that his sharp processing and accuracy can’t make up for his limitations as a quarterback. No matter how well-constructed an offense can be from a personnel and schematic standpoint, he will leave you wanting more. That is one of the biggest reasons why the Miami Dolphins failed to win a playoff game at their peak in the past five years. Those shortcomings will leave fans pondering how many games he could start in Atlanta.

It’s hard to imagine him being completely disregarded, as he possesses the attributes and intangibles you want to see from a quarterback. That will leave Tagovailoa without much margin for error. Unless he regains his 2023 Pro Bowl form, the pressure will ramp up for Penix Jr. to be back on the field. That will take time due to the young quarterback’s devastating ACL injury from last November. It’s one of the main reasons why Tagovailoa will start plenty of games in Atlanta, regardless of his overall performance.
In a close vote, more fans believe the former top five overall pick will start until November. Although many are optimistic he starts for most of the season, there is slightly greater belief in Penix Jr. taking over after a difficult stretch where the Falcons will play teams like the 49ers, Bears, and Bengals.
