Luis Suárez knows a thing or two about quality strikers and on his personal list he thinks two center-forwards standout above the rest — Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane (England) and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (Norway).
“I have two or three. Haaland is a lethal number nine in the box, although his team has to play for him. I prefer Harry Kane. He links up much better with the rest of his team. He makes movements thinking about his teammate’s counter-movement, he understands the game differently.
I love those kinds of details,” Suárez told Mundo Deportivo (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The appreciation of Kane is well-deserved. While he did not have his best game in England’s 0-0 draw with Ghana, the striker has been incredible since the start of the last season. Scoring, distributing, defending…Kane has done it all with aplomb.
Now, he will look to help guide the Three Lions into the knockouts, where England’s resolve will be tested.
