This is Keegan Brown’s first year in Lexington, as he looks to revamp the Kentucky Wildcats‘ scouting and roster-building process after a tough year last season for the Cats.
Despite no games being played yet, it seems like that mindset is already working, as the 2026-27 Cats roster seems to fit together better than last year, and Brown is a major factor in that. It also sounds like he is hoping to develop how the scouting department operates for Kentucky going forward.
In a response to a tweet by
Kevin Sweeney of Sports Illustrated referencing the growth needed in scouting departments in college basketball, Brown implies that changes are coming.
Does this mean more staff or a different model to track stats? Not a lot of info in the tweet, but it’s obvious that Brown is looking to take the Cats’ scouting and roster building to the next level. Hopefully a successful season in Lexington can really help propel the Cats back to the top of the sport, especially with the new administration in Kentucky Athletics.
