The Green Bay Packers did not have a practice at all on Monday, while the Detroit Lions only had a walkthrough leading up to their Thanksgiving Day matchup. Because of that, both teams’ first injury reports
of the week are only estimations. Still, there’s some information to take from the self-reporting.
Packers’ Non-Participants
- WR Savion Williams (foot)
- DE Lukas Van Ness (foot)
- DT Karl Brooks (ankle)
- CB Keisean Nixon (neck)
Had Green Bay actually practiced today, the team estimates that four players would have been non-participants. This includes Savion Williams, who is regularly in a walking boot leading up to the game, and Keisean Nixon, who dropped out of last week’s win against the Minnesota Vikings due to a stinger. Without Nixon, Kamal Hadden came in to play opposite Carrington Valentine. Last week was the first time that he received regular-season NFL snaps on defense in his professional career.
Interestingly, Lukas Van Ness and Karl Brooks, two players who were active on Sunday but on the injury report throughout last week, were listed as estimated non-participants. Van Ness only played six snaps of defense (none on special teams) against the Vikings, while Brooks only played four. Clearly, those two were on a pitch count versus Minnesota.
Packers’ Limited Participants
- RB Josh Jacobs (knee)
- WR Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder) – IR practice window open
- WR Matthew Golden (wrist)
- WR Dontayvion Wicks (calf)
- RT Zach Tom (back)
- LB Quay Walker (neck)
- LB Edgerrin Cooper (foot/shoulder)
- CB Nate Hobbs (knee)
- S Javon Bullard (ankle)
There are a couple of interesting notes here. First of all, Matthew Golden had his status change from “shoulder/wrist” to just “wrist” this week. He, along with Josh Jacobs, Quay Walker and Nate Hobbs, was held out against the Vikings due to injury.
Walker and Hobbs seem to be trending in a positive direction, which could be huge against a talented Lions team. Previously, Walker and Hobbs were non-participants in practice, so keep an eye on their Tuesday and Wednesday participation.
Lions’ Non-Participants
- WR Kalif Raymond (ankle)
- TE Brock Wright (neck)
- C Graham Glasgow (knee)
- S Kerby Joseph (knee)
Starting safety Kerby Joseph was inactive last week with his knee injury and remains a non-participant for Detroit. Meanwhile, cornerback Terrion Arnold, who missed Week 12 with a concussion, was a limited participant in the team’s walkthrough.
The other injury to watch here is with center Graham Glasgow, who played on Sunday.
