Dan Quinn spoke to the media before the start of the Washington Commanders walkthrough. They are on a short week, with limited practices, as they prepare for their Week 2 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. It’s their first primetime game of the season, and the team will be traveling to Green Bay after practice ends. The team named their team captains for Thursday Night Football before Quinn stepped up to the mic. Zach Ertz(offense), Frankie Luvu(defense), and Nick Bellore(special teams) get that
honor this week, and they have all been leaders on the team since signing with the Commanders last season.
The Commanders came out of their Week 1 victory over the New York Giants pretty healthy, but Tress Way did suffer a back injury on a punt attempt. He’s been limited this week, but was punting yesterday. Washington signed a punter to their practice squad earlier today, but Quinn said the concern for Way’s health and availability for the game is lower now, and they expect Tress to do well tomorrow night. He added that signing another punter on a short week was the right decision.
